By accessing or using GString Bot ("the Service"), including the website, dashboard, bot functionality, and any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and GString Bot ("we," "us," or "our").
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service, consistent with Twitch's minimum age requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
GString Bot is a free Twitch chat translation service. The Service provides the following functionality:
• Automatic detection of non-English messages in Twitch chat
• Real-time translation of detected messages into English
• An AI-powered chat assistant accessible via the !p command
• A web-based dashboard for managing bot settings, commands, and channel preferences
• An administrative panel for service operators
The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, modify existing features, or change the scope of free features at any time with reasonable notice.
The Service uses Twitch OAuth for authentication. We do not create separate user accounts. By logging in with your Twitch account, you authorize us to:
• Access your basic Twitch profile information (username, display name, profile picture, and user ID)
• Join and operate the bot in your Twitch channel when you enable it
• Read messages in your channel's chat for translation purposes
• Send translated messages and bot responses to your channel's chat
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Twitch account. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
• Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Use the Service in violation of Twitch's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service
• Use the bot or AI features to generate, distribute, or facilitate harmful, abusive, harassing, threatening, or hateful content
• Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the Service in a manner not intended by us
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without our express written permission
• Overload the Service with an unreasonable number of requests or attempt to abuse rate limits
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You are solely responsible for all content that you submit, post, or transmit through the Service, including custom bot prompts, command configurations, and any messages sent through the bot's AI features. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit such content and that your content does not violate any third party's rights.
By submitting content to the Service (such as custom prompts or configurations), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
The Service, including its original content (excluding user-submitted content), features, functionality, design, and source code, is and will remain the exclusive property of GString Bot and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. This license does not include the right to modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.
The Service integrates with and relies upon third-party services to function. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that your use is also subject to the terms and policies of these third-party providers:
• Twitch — for authentication and chat integration. Subject to Twitch's Terms of Service
• OpenAI — for message translation and AI-powered responses. Subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use
We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of these third-party services. Any issues arising from third-party services are governed by their respective terms and policies.
Translations provided by the Service are generated by AI and may not be perfectly accurate. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any translation. The Service should not be relied upon for critical, legal, medical, or safety-related communications. You acknowledge that automated translations may contain errors, miss nuances, or misrepresent the original meaning of messages.
We strive to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, server issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GSTRING BOT, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
• Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service
• Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
• Any content obtained from the Service, including inaccurate translations
• Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
• Service downtime, interruptions, or data loss
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based, including negligence, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us, which is zero.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GString Bot, its operators, and contributors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary right; or (d) any claim that your content or use of the Service caused damage to a third party.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your channel and logging out.
All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GString Bot regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, proposals, or representations, whether written or oral, regarding the Service.
